Pulling your life up by the roots… Part 1

…and planting it somewhere else. I’ve done that a couple of times now. More than a couple. This time I left a man who at a time I thought was the one. Well, you live and learn, and I don’t know if we were too different or too alike. Or just not meant to be. It doesn’t matter now.

Finding somewhere to live that is affordable in the largest city in Denmark is really difficult. I knew that and I really should have planned this break up better. Well, you rarely do. And if you do, you’re kind of a arse hole. I mean, knowing you’re going to break up but staying just to make things easier for you. At least I couldn’t do that. It seemed mean. That meant I had to take the first thing I could even if that meant something too expensive. So I did:

Who needs a door anyway?

And who wouldn’t want a giant hole in the wall to your room? (That has been boarded up though 🙂 )

IMG_8653And this is my window (and view for the next year or so – I will have a canal in time so I think it’ll be worth it. Think). I have to say this nearly made my cry the first time I saw it, but I’m growing rather fond of it. The natural light is AMAZING! The picture of me in the red dress was at 6.30 AM and it was still dark outside. But I would like some curtains since I have contruction workers right outside. Unfortunately I need a special power drill for those walls and someone to handle it so that’ll have to wait.

And by the way I slept here for about 6 weeks. I still hurt in places I didn’t know existed.

I would have taken pictures of my chaos as I moved in but I was too tired. I had boxes everywhere though – take my word for it 🙂

I had to leave these two behind as you probably know. I’m not allowed to have cats and even if I did, I can’t afford it right now. My rent is so expensive that a vet bill would be a cat-astrophe. And while they are generally really healthy, Poe does have a cronic condition and need expensive vet food as well.

I will miss them like crazy but the option to get them back if I ever have the possibility is open. I don’t know if they’ll remember me by then though.

Anyway before I start crying again… I know you are just dying to see what I did with the place! And I’m going to leave you hanging because that’s for another blog post in the end of the week (or possibly the beginning of next week) which will also feature my new Unique Vintage dress! Exciting! 😀

  1. You’re so awesome. You got this, girl! I did a very similar thing about 4 years ago with my ex. It wasn’t meant to be and I had to leave. Relocating is the hardest thing I EVER had to do – luckily, my parents lived only 40min away and I just went there and lived out of boxes until I could afford my own place. UGH! It’s challenging but it was the right thing to do! Once the dust settles and you’re moved in and you get a new routine going, you’ll find that peace too =)

    • Hah, speaking of dust, this place is full of it >.< I have to vacuum every hour because it just keep turning up from nowhere! Everytime I move a box, there is more!
But yes, I'm sure I did the right thing. And well, I've never ever lived in anything this fancy before so that's an experience.

  2. Oh my lovely, don’t cry, it WILL be great!! I’m so sorry it’s been a rough time for you and that the renting is so difficult in this city in Denmark! Ahrgh, you slept on THAT!?!?!??!?! Seriously????? Could you put a bookcase in front of the window so you could make create a sort of a block on some of it! YOU will make it beautiful- you always do!!!! And of course, a pretty dress is lovely to see- lit by wonderful light! What is the brooch- I’d love to see more of it! It looks super!
P.S. I have a favour to ask- I’ve entered Lady Vintage’s competition to style one of their dresses and send in a photo and if you liked my picture best out of the entries, I’d love it if you felt able to vote for me by liking my picture! Cheeky, I know, but I really want to win- never won anything like that before!

      • Ah, the fez brooch- tres envious!!!! So cool! Thanks for the like- so nice of you to do that. Sadly, the leader seems to be 100 in front of me now!!!! Ahrgh!!!! What can I do?! Wish I was on Facebook for once!!!
