The Liebster Award

I have been nominated to share some random stuff about me by the ever so sweet Lindsey from Have Clothes, Will Travel and well, any chance to talk about myself, right? 😉

11 Random facts about me:

1: I don’t really care for chocolate.

2: Autumn is my favourite season, but most years I’m slightly disappointed because it’s not all romantic and chilly walks with falling leaves but more icy rain and wind.

3: I have a thing for mugs. Seriously, if you want to get me a present but don’t know what, a novelty mug is the way to go. Especially if it has some SuperWhoLock/Potter reference or a quote from a favourite book.

4: I can’t seem to stick to a style for more than a year. Currently I’m into short skirts, boots and knitwear.

5: I love dinosaurs. Like really LOVE.

6: I don’t like brown bread. Just give me white, please. I’ll eat some broccoli to make up for it (no, I won’t).

7: My biggest wish is to go to DragonCon. And The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And Disney World. And I’m 31 years old.

8: It makes me furious when people criticize young people for being on social media, playing computer games or whatever they like to do. There are no wrong hobbies. Do what you love.

9: I love comic books.

10: I grew up on a farm and one year I actually got a pony for Christmas. Her name was Lady.

11: I never stop crying at certain Doctor Who episodes.

Q&A

What inspired you to start your blog?

Ehm. Well, mostly that I like to rant on occasion and IG just isn’t the best media for ranting 😉

Who is your favorite style icon?

Zooey Deschanel. Yeah, I know it’s cliche but look at her. She has the best style.

Can you name two of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites?

Never! Okay, I’ll give you these: Amanda and Katie from Junebugs and Georgia Peaches. I followed them on IG before they started blogging and even though I’ve never met them I am absolutely in love with them.

What’s the one wardrobe essential you can’t live without?

Cardigans! The librarian labcoat.

How would you describe your blogging style?

Ehm…erratic. Terrible. Infrequent. 😉

What was the last book you read?

I just finished Slasher Girls & Monster Boys and it was GLORIOUS! Not all the short stories were equally good but most were really cool and some were really awesome!

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

Oh I think I covered that further up but I would go to England any day of the week.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Can I have a permanent job please?

What was the first movie or book that made an impact on your life?

Okay, you’re going to laugh now but The Labyrinth. You may see as a second rate puppet film with horrible “special effects” and David Bowie in too tight tights but for me it founded my love for fantasy (and yes for david Bowie) and already then as about 7 years old I never understood why Sarah didn’t choose the Goblin King. Screw the baby, it was annoying and gross to boot, and it was the first time I consciously became aware that I had no desire to have any children. That I would choose power, love and desire over children any time. “I ask for so little. Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave.” That quote never left my mind again.

What advice would you give someone who just started blogging?

Do what you want. Really. Blog for your sake and not for others or to gain something.

Xoxo,

Kathrine

I host arts & crafts days at our library….will you reply with another way to ‘inspire the elders’ to become more involved? I have no problem with children & I love The Labryinth! Raised my kiddos to it too. Congratulations!!

    • I’m not sure how to inspire the elders to be honest. I’m a children’s/youth librarian so I don’t work much with the older patrons 🙂
